»3 Spiritual Life Resolutions.

I want to take advantage today to let you know about 3 things that I want to accomplish this year... I call them my New Year Resolutions. Hehe. Well, these are not all my resolutions, but they are my resolutions in my "Spiritual Life."

I have written down 3 goals and also along with them I have written the action steps that I need to take to accomplish those goals. I'll just share with you my goals and a little info on them. Come and be part of my life. Keep me accountable. Hehe.

1. I want to read my Bible more everyday.
For Christmas, I got my sister, Beckers, an English Standard Version Bible. It is a very unique bible. It's prfect for daily reading, since you got 2 inch margins in both sides of each page full of lines to write your notes. It is called The Journaling Bible. It is so cool! I think so.
Anyway, I liked it so much that I went and got me one. Merry Christmas to me!
I will read my Bible everyday. Keep me accountable.

2. Listen to 3 sermons weekly.
This one is easy. Since my beautiful lady got me an ipod as one of the many presents that I got this season, hehe... I went all out. I hooked that thing up to itunes and downloaded a whole bunch of sermons. I tell you, I have more Andy Stanley, Mark Driscoll and Rick Warren than Sin Bandera and Alicia Keys put together.
I got this resolution! I constantly plug those headphones in my ears and listen to "Why Jesus' mom had to be a virgin" and "How to better my teaching skills." On my way to work, on my way home, on my way to anywhere, I am constatly listening to teachings and preachings. Oh, it is so fun to listen to positive biblical preaching. Well, maybe no so positive, that's when Jesus speaks to my heart and convicts me of a sin in my life. But it's all good! Hehe.

3. Pray more.
Now, I gre up with the mentality that if I pray 3 hours more than I did the day before, I am closer to Jesus and way more spiritual than "you." Oh boy, that's some tradition right there. I would feel so guilty, not convicted, mind you, but guilty when I prayed less. Guilty. What a feeling!
Let me tell you something, there is no formula to pray and get what you want and when you want it. A lot of people believe that (more on that later). Look, I just find this in Scripture: "The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." James 5:16. Just pray and constantly repent of your sin. I have to get in the habit of talking to Jesus everywhere I go.
There are people that only pray to him in a secluded place, alone with a "prayer shawl," kneeling. Oh, and it has to be at a certain time. And if they don't do it like that, they will not be praying, according to them. Come on... pray everywhere. Just talk to Jesus.
Ok, I'll stop. Dang!
You see, I need to pray more.

So, guys, here are my resolutions for my "Spiritual Life."
Stay tune for my resolutions in my "Physical Life."
Oh... that'll be hilarious!
